Samuel Gernet studied physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) and majored in experimental physics. In his diploma thesis in the field of polymer physics he studied the rheological shear strain behaviour of melted polymers. He subsequently worked at the Institute of Microtechnology of the University of Neuchâtel on the realization of a miniaturized planar amperometric gucose sensor for biomedical applications where he was awarded his Dr. sc. nat. in 1990. Samuel Gernet has wide experience of industrial R&D projects and in particular worked in the field of microelectronics and electrical connection techniques. Samuel Gernet has worked in the field of intellectual property right protection since 1992 and successfully passed the examination as a European Patent Attorney in 2005. Up to now he focussed his IP work on intellectual property right protection in the fields of the production of aluminium, composite materials, thin film technology, control engineering, solar technology, molding and packaging technology, as well as in the field of passive components (connectors) and relays. Samuel Gernet joined the patent department of Sulzer Management Ltd. in May 2007. |
