Dr.
Hans-Peter Brack earned his doctorate in polymer chemistry in 1993 at Brown University. After a post-doctoral position in surface science at EMPA-Dübendorf, he worked for several years in the areas of polymer membranes and fuel cells as a staff scientist and eventually group leader at the Paul Scherrer Institute. In 1999 he joined a major plastics manufacturer in the Netherlands where he held various roles including product development specialist, senior process chemist and senior engineer. His work there resulted in the introduction of several new product and process technologies, and he is the inventor of more that 30 patent families. Hans-Peter Brack has worked in the area of intellectual property since 2000, and he holds a masters degree in intellectual property from ETH-Zürich and is a licensed US patent agent and European Patent Attorney. His work in IP strategy received several management awards in industry, and he lectures regularly on IP at universities and conferences.
