Dr.
Manfred Irsch studied physics at the Saarland University and received his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) in the field of solid state physics from the Natural Science and Engineering Faculty II for Physics and Electrical Engineering. While working in the academic field, he concentrated on different areas of solid state physics, in particular the growing of monocrystalline materials and the investigation of translatory and dynamically disordered systems, as well as incommensurable structures with a focus on nuclear magnetic resonance, dielectric spectroscopy and X-ray spectroscopy, as well as on methods of calorimetry and ultrasonic engineering.
Manfred Irsch joined the Sulzer Patent Department in 2001 and successfully passed the examination as a European Patent Attorney.
